Digital Division (Webedia)

Fimalac holds almost all of the share capital of Webedia, the linchpin of the Digital activity that the Group has been developing since July 2013.

Webedia is the leading French media group in online entertainment. Webedia has continued to invest in growing the business in recent years while also expanding its geographic footprint, with a presence in most of its business areas in Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil and the United States.

Webedia is creating value in five specialized entertainment areas that boast a large following through a portfolio of around 20 brands and some 100 websites:

Ø  Movies (Allociné in France, Westworld Media in the United States,...)

Ø  Video games (Jeuxvideo.com, Millenium,...)

Ø  Fashion/beauty (Purepeople, Purestyle,...)

Ø  Cookery and gastronomy (750g, Académie du Goût,...)

Ø  Tourism (Easy Voyage,...)

In these specialized areas where Webedia has significant market share, the drivers to create value are mainly based on targeted advertising (databases, influencers, programmatic marketing), services to major brands and e-commerce.

A series of initiatives have been recently launched in such areas as e-sports and in promoting talents/influencers on YouTube in France, Spain and the United States.

Furthermore, Webedia opens up its activities towards content production.

In 2017, the Digital Division reported revenue of €283 million. It had about 2,230 employees at the end of 2017.
